Real Estate

Love your location

When it comes to business I am sure you have heard the saying “Location, Location, Location”, but this is also true for your home, especially right now when inventory is low. It is unlikely that you will find the perfect home in the perfect location in this market. I would suggest instead, focusing on the area that you love, and finding a home that you can renovate to fit your needs.

If you don’t have an eye for what a home can be, instead of what it currently is, look for a Realtor that can help you see the diamond that just needs to be shined. Some homes may just need new flooring and paint which is relatively inexpensive. Other homes may need more extensive construction such as wall removal, or other major renovations to make it the home of your dreams.

My husband and I bought a home on 5 acres that we didn’t love right away. The property was great, it had a barn and a tool shed, several trees, and the area was quiet. The home however was not great. The siding had been patched with pieces that didn’t quite match, it didn’t have much personality, and the inside had all white walls and low quality construction grade flooring. I can’t even begin to tell you how ugly the kitchen was. By the time we sold the home (only because we found another home to renovate with an even better location) it was the most beautiful home we had ever owned. We called that home Big Blue. All new beautiful blue siding, new roof, new flooring, new kitchen counters, painted kitchen cabinets, and newly painted walls. We added an in-ground swimming pool, large patios and landscaping. That diamond needed a lot of polish, but she sure did shine! Not only did we have a beautiful home, but when we sold we made a nice profit from the sale.

Having an eye for what could be put us exactly where we wanted to be, both geographically and eventually financially. I would love to help you do the same!
